Two years ago we took a trip to Vitoria which included 10 days of jam-packed sightseeing. It was a wonderful trip, if not a little too long. One of our sights included Pedra Azul (Blue Stone/Rock) in Domingo Martins. While it's called "Pedra Azul," the color of the mountain appears to change depending on the direction of the sun. It's an incredible place to check out. The mountain is so high and appears to jut out of the earth void of a chain. The pousadas surrounding the area are beautifully landscaped and offer a million things to do: golf, hiking, rock climbing, swimming, horse rides, tennis courts, paddle boats, you name it! It's a great example of all these hidden gem eco-tourism places that are scattered throughout Brazil. If you're visiting Vitoria, it's a great place to escape to for a day. (And you can find more information about Pedra Azul here.)*
This was the last trip we took with my mother-in-law. The photos of Maicon sharing flowers with her are some of my favorite pictures of the two. No one prompted him to give them to her, he just did. She was so happy to receive them; it was a very touching moment.
